When new releases of BikeCAD Pro come out, all owners of BikeCAD Pro receive these updates for free. E-mails are sent out with a link to download the latest version. The program comes in a compressed zip file. It is not simply a patch or something that needs to be added to the existing program. It is the entire program.

To install the new version, the old version can be uninstalled first, or the new version can be installed directly on top of the old. If installing over top of the old, be sure to overwrite all the files when prompted. The only exception should be the few files that may have been customized through the Customize dialog box. These customized files are found in the BikeCAD Pro\configuration\ directory. The files along with their purpose are listed below.

• fit_advisor.xml (stores fit advisor formulas and settings)
• forks.xml (stores database of standard forks)
• wheels.xml (stores database of standard wheels)
• properties.xml (stores remaining settings from the customization dialog box)
• template.bcad (stores the bike design that BikeCAD will display when launched)
