These concepts are valid for both narrowband and non-narrowband antennas. It is not the objective of this book, however, to present a detailed theory in the field of antennas. The particularities of the case of UWB antennas will be addressed in Chapter 4.
The chapter includes different omnidirectional UWB designs as reported in the open literature, and a performance comparison among them. Directional UWB antennas are covered in Chapter 7. This chapter also presents a specific design methodology, which is based on the methodology of omnidirectional antennas explained in Chapter 6.
