Easy does it.

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

Today’s swim:  9x[3x50m on(:50,:45,:45), 300m on 4:30],…made it through 3 rounds, and pulled out because I felt my technique was suffering (elbows were dropping).  I supplemented with dryland tubing — worked on catch strength.

Today’s run:   1hour easy.

I’m in transition now between sedentary recovery mode, to active recovery mode.  This is a neat time of year,….starting to dream ahead to next year,….relaxing,…and enjoying life,…and enjoying training.  Overall this amount of training, work, and play is a healthy balance.

Truck Bike video

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

Brent just forwarded me a link to the video with coverage from Waterloo’s Santa Claus parade.  His TRUCK BIKE and COUCH BIKE can be seen, spliced into the local TV network’s coverage.

Keep up the great inventions Bro – you’re doing a great job promoting a greener planet.

Canadian Cross-country championships

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

We’re finally getting some mild weather here in CowTown — roads are covered in sledge and slush though.  I ran 2 hours yesterday, I started to feel the distance near the end.

National X-C running championships were over the weekend in Vancouver down at Jericho Beach.  Congrats to Simon Whitfield (finishing 9th), Kyle Jones, Colin Jenkins, and Adam Campbell all triathletes who I noticed raced.  Congrats too to old buds, Gerry Ziak (finishing 3rd — awesome, you looked pumped!), and UofWaterloo alumni Stephen Drew (10th) and Scott Arnald (12th).
