How redneck can we be?

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

I saw a bumper sticker on a big truck in Calgary today: PROTECT THE WEST!! NO Kyoto, No Wheat board, No Gun Registry.

We are such a wealthy city,…yet we don’t have curbside recycling, and we don’t have recycling drop off bins for plastics!  We have to drive to Canmore to drop off our plastics recycling,…only for it all to be driven back to Calgary in a transport truck to be processed there anyways.  I don’t get this province.

Rest does the body good

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

Allison, Tara Ross and I swam at the University today.  Had a great swim, including the mainset being:

40x100m (10 on 1:30, 10 on 1:25, 10 on 1:30, 10 on 1:20)

I’m leading a 2hour spin class at SpeedTheory triathlon store tonight at 6:30pm.  I’m loving my bike,…it fits like a glove, making the 2hours a lot of fun.

Ahhhhhhh….rest day

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

Yesterday was a key workout day,…and now it’s time to sit back, relax, and let all the adaptations take place.  Since Peter Reid has been coaching me the focus in my workouts are much improved, with big volume better balanced by more rest.  Overall my energy is higher, and can see notable improvement in developing my aerobic base.  My rest days are as important as the work itself.
