Good times

Friday, November 30th, 2007

I’m enjoying my downtime from structured training. I’m working more being a chiropractor,…I’m finding it nice coming to work without the added fatigue from cummulative hours training. I’m reaquainting myself with my friends in the city too – there has been a lot to catch up on.

I’m starting to get the itch to get back training,…thinking ahead and looking forward to rebuilding, and coming into 2008 with renewed focus. It’s too early to get too hyped up,…but I’m glad the passion to train and race is still there.

I recently showed up at a Dinos swim practice,…just to get wet, and go through the motions. I had a conversation with Jan Bird – one of the coaches, and someone who I respect greatly — he’s been to the Olympics himself as an athlete and coach (with success in coaching multiple world record performances). He had an observation for me, from an objective eye as a coach,…he thought that just maybe for the 2007 race season, I wanted success to come just a little too much. He could tell that I wanted to succeed badly,…but perhaps too much, and putting too much pressure on myself. He told me sometimes it’s good not to think about things,…and just come to practice with a smile and try to enjoy the process. Anyways,…I thought that was an interesting comment.

This is a video of Peter Reid piloting his float plane, and landing on a lake. I’ve never seen anything like it before. I found this quite spectacular.  I can see why people love to fly.

Zoot clothing rocks

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

If you’re in the market for new fall/winter clothing – or shopping for someone for Christmas, take a look at the new Zoot Sports line of clothing. The clothing is unbelieveable. The jacket below is CRAZY warm, flexible and form fitting. The run pants are by FAR the BEST run pants I’ve ever had,…wind protection/light/stretchy/with internal pelvis liner – UNBELIEVEABLY nice. mmmmm!

The photo below is the multisport long sleeve top,…looks ordinary? Try it on,…you’ll be amazing by how nice it feels,…plus it has awesome wind protection.

I’m one happy camper.
