Whistler here we come

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

I’m excited for this weekend, as Allison and all the Chilliwack medical residents are heading for a couple days of hitting the slopes!  All I keep hearing is how incredible the net snow fall in Whistler is.  I can hardly wait to see what all the fuss is about.

I’m back increasing my run mileage,…just upping the frequency of my training sessions – getting used to a bit more consistency before the mileage ups again.  I’ve been training a bit more with other people now; among those is Mark Furlong – a fast pure runner who’s never raced without injury,…this year, he’s going to get over his injuries and will be crazy fit.  Look for him to hit some fast 5 and 10km this year.

Keep well everyone,

Scott

Happy new year

Friday, January 4th, 2008

Things are looking good on my end.  I just had a great holiday in western BC, I’m enjoying working as a chiropractor with the best patients I could ever hope for, and I’m very excited about training and racing in 2008.  My passion for training and racing is strong — I’m really thankful for this, and that I’m healthy enough to pursue such endevours.

Best — ride safe, (not sure if the video below represents a safety bike or not — I’ll let you decide)

Jonny Hipwaders

Jonny Hipwaders

In the final mile of the marathon, Jonnyo was so exhausted, he felt like he was running in steel-toed boots. It was only when he looked down that he realized they were actually hipwaders.

Happy New Year everyone!  Al and I spent quite a bit of time with my sister’s family, and yesterday and today with my friend Darren’s family.  It was good to hook up with cousin Kuy and his fiance Davis too.  Today, I raced a 8km in Crescent beach park — the new year of training has begun!!  Feeling lucky to be having such a great holiday.
