CONGRATS Kuyler and Davis!!!

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

My fantastic cousin Kuyler and his amazing fiancée Davis tied the knot in Point Clark/Kincardine, Ontario today.  Allison and I are sad we aren’t there to celebrate the occasion. That being said, we’re most certainly there in spirit.

I’m dedicating my race to you both.  We’ll have to toast your marriage next time we see each other.

Racing tomorrow

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

This morning I had my last spin on my bike with Tom Evans before the big show. We biked out to the run turnaround and back. It was neat listening to his perspective on how to bike the course well. I’ll definitely be keeping his words of wisdom in the back of my mind tomorrow.

I did a short run,…and now I’m chilling, waiting for Luke and Rosemarie to swing by my place. We’ll be putting our stuff in transition, then going for our last swims.

Ironman Coeur D’Alene

Friday, June 20th, 2008

I just got back from an open water swim with a couple dudes from Penticton, Tom Evans and Dave Matheson.  Jonathan Caron came too, but as he’s still not back to training after getting sick last month.  We swam “where the locals swim”, from a beach just east of the race start, where the water is typically 3-4 degrees warmer.

I’m just eating a lot today, avoiding fiber, drinking lots of CarboPro.  I’ll head over to the pro-meeting in a couple hours.  Aside from that, I’m simply resting.

Ps. Happy Birthday Ray!
