Allison and I stayed at Jonathan Caron’s (2nd place finisher) place last night after the awards banquet and party.  At a point this morning, while lying awake as everyone else was still sleeping, I was forced to face the reality of the situation.  Strangely, I found it harder to face my emotions now; more so than it was while dealing with the situation head-on during the race.  The reality of not realizing what I had come to expect was hard.  I’m not complaining, nor do I feel sorry for myself, as I’m cognisant of the fact that it’s the element of difficulty and these tough points that’ll makes me stronger in the end.  Ultimately, the disappointments make the successes all the more fullfilling; and usually they balance themselves out.  I recognize that I’m privileged, while living a healthy lifestyle amongst great supporting friends and family.  Thanks to everyone who sent me positive emails, phone calls, and comments – you have no idea how much you all mean to me.

Keep well,
