I’m back in the water more now – it’s good to be back swimming with the Dinos.  That also means the body lotion is out in full force.  Swimming coupled with dryness in Calgary can be deadly.  Today I hopped into the distance swimmer’s lane. The set was:

5x400m (mix of free and back) on 6:00, 5x[3×100 band only on 1:30, 2×200 pull (one on 2:30, second on 3:30)], descending 10x150m on 1:55

I cheated with choosing not to do band-only, and swimming the first 200 pull as 150 pull,…and 10×100 rather than 150s. I’m determined to improve this year. In races, I was pretty disappointed with my swimming last year. Being around the sport long enough, I realize that it’s just a matter of time before things start clicking again. Staying positive and consistent with training is really important.

I just visited Jonathan Caron’s blog and watched a video of him giving a tour of his pad in Las Cruces,…I always get a kick out of him.
