Hello from Coeur D’Alene

June 18th, 2008

It’s been a travel day.  I flew to Seattle, then connected to Spokane, then hopped on an airport shuttle to Coeur D’Alene.  Interestingly, one of the people on the shuttle was an Olympic gold medalist in the 4x200m freestyle relay – Ashley Whitney.  Her fiance, Joseph and I swam in the frigid lake – at sub-60 degree water, I was impressed that they swam without wetsuits.  I have total respect for people so daring.

I’m crashing at a place tonight that Luke Way and Rosemarie Gerspacher set up – i’m expecting them to arrive later today, and hopefully we can all have dinner together.

I’m going to attempt to swim once again today,…the first time today was too short, and I feel like I need to develop my feel of the water a little more.  There’s another place where locals swim (asides from where the swim is for the race) which is slightly warmer by 3-5 degrees.  I’m going to try to find it.

Not much else to report, asides from an annoying cat who wants me to pet it — if I do, my eyes will close shut from allergies.  So I’m going to pretend I don’t see him as he walks across the keyboard.
