A world of hurt!

June 22nd, 2008

That was hard! Oooooh. It was a funny day for me,…I swam easy to come out in 4th or 5th – I think. I felt awesome for the first 2/3 of the bike – thinking that this was going to be my day,…then I started going cross-eyed. I thought I was biking smart,…easy on the uphills, and strong on the flats, but I just didn’t have the cycling endurance I needed. By the end of the bike and starting the run, I was full on bonked. The first 1/2 of the run took everything I had to get fluids in, and keep my legs turning over. With 1/3 left in the run, I started coming around,…and I had energy again. I finished in a proud 8th place, behind 4 past Ironman Champions. The day was such a mental challenge, which provided me with an invaluable learning experience.

I had an amazing cheering section, and am soooo grateful for everyone’s support. I love you all!
