They say that if you time your peak fitness, with a proper taper that the couple weeks leading up to a race shouldn’t feel good.  This time around in my prep, there’s no doubt that this is the way things are.  This is hard on the brain – I don’t like not feeling good!  Despite all this, Allison said something that made me feel better – she said, you’ve done the work, and that’s all that is important right now.  Putting it all in perspective, she’s absolutely right,…I shouldn’t care how I feel right now, the important prep and the loading has been done.  Analyzing this doesn’t change anything.  I just need to keep executing workouts, then race my race when the day comes.  Simple.
