  • Couchbike Story in Adventure Cyclist Magazine

The story of my couchbike adventure has been published in the June 2007 issue of Adventure Cyclist Magazine, the one bicycling magazine truly dedicated to bicycle adventure.

I like the layout of this one. They used a number of never before published photos from the trip.

If you’re already a member of the Adventure Cycling Association, you can look for the magazine in your mail box. Otherwise, it’s worth checking out their site at: adventurecycling.org

  • Bicycle Forest Toronto Location?

This weekend, I checked out some empty shop space in Toronto. The space is located between the Beaches and Leslieville, just a couple of blocks from the lake.

    New Shop Space

The main floor is 750 square feet. I tried to imagine how various rental bikes might fit in the room. Unfortunately, the following image is unrealistic as the pickup truck bike would never fit through the 36″ door. The Couchbike could be assembled inside, but it would have to be disassembled to fit back through the door as well.

I never imagined that I would ever live in Toronto, but this is certainly a nice part of town. There’s lots to think about here.  Decisions, decisions.

  • Southern Ontario Amazing Race

Today, the Southern Ontario Amazing Race used a selection of bikes from the Bicycle Forest for one of their challenges. Each racer was randomly assigned a bike and was required to ride a set distance along one of the bike paths at RIM Park. Some bikes were more challenging than others so it was exciting to watch how things unfolded. For information about this year’s race, or to sign up for the race next year checkout therace.ca.   Amazing Race
